A tip for washing silk at home: 

After hand-washing your silk garments with cold water and an extra mild soap solution. Roll them up in a clean towel, squeezing without twisting, thus extracting the moisture from the wash. You can then hang them indoors, as long as you do not use clothes pegs or leave them in direct sunlight.
